faq
We try to take your preferences into account as much as possible, but the priority is always to create a harmonious and safe match with the right family for you.
The standard allowance is between 1800 and 2000 RMB per month. However, in larger cities like Beijing or Shanghai, there may be flexibility to negotiate a slightly higher amount, depending on the family. We can just guarantee the 1800-2000 RMB.
We offer 24/7 support in case of emergency. You can always contact us via phone, email, or WeChat if anything urgent comes up. If you decide to start this journey, we will provide you all our numbers.
We provide health insurance that covers basic outpatient care, emergency treatment, and hospital stays during your time in China.
A private room is guaranteed.
Please note that these are not considered days off for au pairs. In fact, during holidays, children are usually at home, which often means more time spent together. This is actually a great opportunity to build a stronger bond with the host family and the kids through shared activities. That said, you will still have your guaranteed one and a half days off per week, plus six paid vacation days during the program. If you would like to request additional time off beyond that, it should be discussed and agreed upon in advance with your host family.
Your daily duties will mainly involve taking care of the children and helping them with their English. Light housework related to the children (like tidying toys or helping with their meals) may be part of the role, but general house cleaning and cooking for the whole family are NOT expected unless previously agreed upon.
If you’re ever uncomfortable with your host family, you can contact us right away. We will first try to understand the situation and mediate, and if necessary, we will arrange for a rematch with a different family. Notice that we will organize weekly follow-up, so we’ll discuss every week about your emotions, sensations, and eventually problems that you will have in China.
Yes, you’ll find some of ours exchange students who are happy to share their feedback about our program and their experience with host families tagged on our Instagram posts: nice_aupair_italy and nice_aupair_international.
Our program is open to young people between 18 and 30 years old who speak native-level English, are adaptable, and curious about Chinese culture. You don’t need to speak Chinese — just come with an open mind!
